UG!

Man, the boys and that stroller are heavy! We stopped at the local elementary school to drop off a bunch of soup labels and box tops. Then, we ran up to the club house and back to the house. Then, we added a lap in the cemetary. Total of 3.9 miles. My pace wasn't fantastic, but that's understandable with the hills and the weight of everyone. I know, I know... Waaaaa. It was a good run, but I was glad when it was over.

Little bro is back to running after taking time off for tendonitis, and he has registered for the Mesa Falls marathon as of tonight. That means that I, too, need to sign up! Very exciting! He's still going to kick my butt, I'm sure. He won't be able to hold back to run with me. The excitement and the personal challenge will be too much for him to handle. He'll leave me in the dust as he sees just how great he is. I'm going to be so proud of him when he leaves me in the duct!

Git off yer lazy arse.....

Lizzy and I ran up to Grimm's Gate and back. I took one walk break on the way up. This was a very good run considering that I hadn't run for 11 days prior. I am disappointed, though, that in those 11 days, I managed to gain some weight back. Disappointed, yes. Surprised, no. I know what I ate; I'm happy that I didn't gain more than I did!

Welcome spring!

Lizzy and I ran to Grimm's Gate + two laps in the cemetary. I only did two walk breaks during the entire run. After the first mile, I did two minute interval runs every 5-7 minutes. My overall time was really good with a 10:52 mpm pace. YEAH! The weather was perfect; I'm so glad that spring has finally arrived. My weight dropped to 171 this morning which was a shock. The last few days, it has been 174ish - perhaps water weight due to PMS? Regardless, it was a great run this morning.

Where's a construction site when you need one?

Lizzy and I spent a great deal of time looking for a porta-potty. (Doesn't sound good after my post about my oh-so-wonderful wheat bread. BUT, I seriously don't think that was the issue.) It was a good run, otherwise. It was supposed to be an 11-miler, but I misunderstood what time Kelley had to leave. So, I had to nix the 2nd loop. Instead, I ate everything in sight.

It's edible!!!

I have finally made a loaf of whole wheat bread that is actually edible. It's not a rock; it has some flavor; it resembles a loaf of bread! The trick: do not make it in the bread maker.

flat footed elephant

Lizzy and I ran the USU loop. This was supposed to be an 11 mile LSD, but I slept in. I'll have to do it tomorrow (so why am I up late typing?). I felt like the world's least graceful elephant during the first two miles. It's like my feet were flat and just slapping the hell out of the road. I felt like I had to force every step. Oddly, the two miles back home (slight uphill) were easier than the first two downhill. Shockingly, my pace wasn't completely awful @ 11:21 mpm. Decent for me. Bound to get better over the summer as my training heats up for the August marathon.

On a separate note, I had my yearly physical with the doc this week. I got all of the normal tests including blood work. My results are back already, and my "bad" cholesterol is a bit higher than it should be. It's still within safe levels, but higher than ideal. This kind of shocks me because I am pretty careful about what I eat - five raw fruits/veggies per day, only whole wheat bread/pancakes, low sugar, no added salt, only meat 1x/day and very little red meat. HOWEVER, I know that when I blow it, I do it big time! BIG time. And, I've been pretty lazy about getting rid of my belly fat. So, it's time to make some more changes. I plan to have my cholesterol level in check in six months.

Brrrrrr!

Liz and I ran to the golfcourse club house + lap in the cemetary. I'm disappointed that my time was almost 12mpm. I was tired and a bit bunged up after yesterday's run. I need to have a really good stretching session. It was about 25*. This temperature was fine back when I was running consistently in January and February, but since I've been a slacker through the month of March so far, it felt like I was running in Antarctica. (And, yes, that was a bit dramatic...) I could have easily gone longer if I had gotten up earlier.

1st run since ????

I have run 2x in 2 weeks. I had a decent (cold, 25*) run to Grimm's gate with Lizzy. Not nearly as sluggish as I thought I would be after not running at all for a week! I focused on full strides, not the short, choppy ones that I usually have when going uphill or first thing in the morning. I significantly picked up the pace on the way home.

Ug- I suck...

Lately, I'm really SUCKING pond water when it comes to running.
I have GOT to turn this around!
Oh, and I HATE daylight savings time....
